This is what happens when you cater to the wrong fan base. James Gunn's fans are Marvel fans, not DC fans. If you are a DC fan, you can easily pick out these anti-Snyder cults, they write Marvel before DC to describe Marvel DC, and that's a sign-telling factor to know where their loyalty lies. Original DC fans are Snyder fans. The rest of them are primarily jealous Marvel fans; hence they started to hate Snyderverse as it made MCU look stupid. So these Marvel fans pretended to be DC fans to cause friction in the DC fan base. Unfortunately, some inexperienced DC fans got trapped in their trap. So after Snyder was gone from DC, after the last Snyderverse movie, Aqua man, everything went to shit. Only a few films saw profit. Everything has been flopped. James 𝖦unn fans don't watch DC movies; it was prove𝗇 once again with Flash movie failure. They didn't even watch James Gunn's own Suicide Squad movie either, even though Godzilla vs. King Kong was hit precisely simultaneously. They only tend to MCU and mask themselves as DC fans on social media to hate Zack Snyder and to cause friction in DC fandom. Gunn fans would use any excuse to defend Flash's movie failure.
Meanwhile, DC movies would continue 𝗍𝗈 flop. Snyder fans are the majority of DC fans, and James Gunn and WB executives called them toxic and told them not to watch their movies, and they didn't. That's why DC is continuing to flop. Big chance now that James Gunn's DCU would also drop. Superman Legacy has to be the best superhero movie ever; otherwise, James Gunn's DCU would get canceled by David Zaslav as it will bomb the box office. And that's a big ask for James Gunn. Lots of pressure. But he created that. He has none to blame but himself. He announced a reboot even before Shazam 2, Aqua man 2, and Blue Battle. How ridiculous can one stand to accomplish that? James Gunn killed those movies then and there.
People were angry at Ezra Miller's criminal activities as well. How he got away, yet Johnny Depp was banned, and Amber Turd still exists. This is why people are pissed. But not many ordinary casual people knew about Ezra Miller's criminal activities, to be honest, because Ezra Miller wasn't a big name anyway in Hollywood for a general audience to pay attention to. So Flash movie flopped because of earlier reasons mostly.
Imagine everyone is staying, yet the most popular Henry Cavill is released, so fans are pissed at James Gunn and WB. That's another reason.
Walter Hamada and Tobey Emmerich did irreparable damage to the DC brand with their Snyder drama. The DC brand wouldn't be the same. So this was on the card. The only silver lining was if nostalgia bait would work with Michael Keaton's Batman, as many older fans deeply bond with that version of Batman. Still, when the Flash movie is so messy, you have 𝗏𝖾𝗋𝗒 few choices, and other reasons only strengthen the cause to put nails in the coffin. As a hard-core DC fan, it's sad.
